I had the opportunity to test the pewdiepie’s chair used by the famous Youtuber Pewdiepie to give me an objective opinion.
Pewdiepie has been using it in all of these videos for a few years now, promoting this Clutch brand gaming chair.
This is actually a special edition: the Clutch Throttle Pewdiepie Edition. Clutch is not one of the most famous brands in the field, it is still promoted by the Youtubers.
If you are a fan of Pewdiepie, or just want to know what it is worth, I used this chair for a few days to give me an opinion.
Here’s what I honestly think:

PewDiePie Gaming Chair Review – CLUTCH CHAIRZ Throttle Series
Chair Specifications
Material: Leather
Brand: CLUTCH CHAIRZ
Style: Modern
Dimensions: 33 x 29 x 14 inches
Weight Capacity: 300 Pounds
Chair Weight: 45 Pounds
Packaging and assembly: RAS
When I started to unpack the gaming chair, I noticed the quality of the packaging that the brand had used to pack these products.
We are roughly at the same level of quality as the DXRacer, which is excellent news!
Everything is well packed and nothing moves in the box. Small parts are placed in a separate box to avoid losing them.
My chair arrived without a scratch and nothing was missing for the chair assembly.
The assembly of the chair was completely standard compared to the many gaming chairs that I was able to test (apart from the small problem that I had…).
Some screws are already pre-installed, especially those to target the tilting mechanism to the seat. It’s pretty weird because some screws are already installed and some aren’t.
However, I had a little problem fitting the tilting mechanism.
Indeed the armrests which are already pre-assembled on the seat prevented me from screwing the mechanism.
So I had to unscrew the armrests and put them back in order to have enough room to align the screw holes of the tilting mechanism.
It is not a very serious problem in itself. But considering the price of the chair, we should expect a little more demanding quality control. This kind of problem I do not find in other brands that I have tried.
Apart from that, the instruction manual is clear and available in several languages. I find it quite detailed (even a little too much) compared to the other manuals that I have seen on the other chairs. A good point for the Clutch brand!
The whole thing took me about 30 minutes even with the little problem with the armrests.
The Key Features of the Clutch Throttle (Pewdiepie Edition)
The Clutch Throttle is very well equipped in terms of features. They have all the settings of a high-end gaming chair.
Key Features
- 4D adjustable armrests
- Backrest Recline Function
- Backrest adjustable up to 135 °
- Maximum Capacity: 150 kg
- Rocking chair mechanism up to 12 ° with locking
- Lumbar support included
- Tubular Steel Frame
- Non-Marking Castor
- Metal base
4D armrests
There are 4D armrests, which means that they can be adjusted in all directions (up-down, sideways, rotating and back and forth).
The padding on the armrests is pleasant to the touch, and I had no trouble resting my elbows on them.
Folder
The backrest is large and wide enough to support me. The back support is excellent. You can adjust the tilt angle using the joystick on the right of the seat.
The tilt mechanism is well made, it does not get stuck and is rather “soft” to handle. Good point for Clutch on this one.
Seated
The seat is also well made. It is wide, and comfortable to use. You can of course adjust the height of the chair using the lever below. The amplitude is large enough to accommodate a wide variety of sizes.
You also have a large knob to turn which is used to adjust the stiffness of the rocking chair. It is the same that is found in 99% of gaming chairs. So far everything has been fine and good.
Lumbar support and head cushion
The lumbar support is a classic cushion found on all gaming chairs. It is, however, larger than most cushions I have tested.
The problem with the lumbar support is that it’s way too soft. So when I use it , It crashes completely which in my opinion makes it unnecessary.
The head cushion suffers from the same problem, but the result is less unpleasant.
Build quality and comfort
When it comes to building quality, the Clutch Throttle Pewdiepie Edition is at the top of the basket. The pewdiepie’s chair is well constructed and overall gives a good impression of solidity.
There is no squealing when I sit on it which is a pretty good sign. The only item that I noticed to be of poor quality is the plastic that is used to cover the screws on the backrest.
It is truly the lowest end plastic that I have ever seen.
Other than that, the stitching of the upholstery is of good quality. Everything was well tied up and well sewn. The base of the metal armchair was also without any defect, neither in painting nor in workmanship.
There are however on the base, small pieces of red plastic which are there only for decoration. These too are of poor quality as are the covers for the back screws.
The cold foam used by the clutch gaming chair is very good. Firm at first, it will get used to your body shape as you go. The only big problem with the comfort of use is the metal bar that I feel at the bottom of the seat on the seat.
In fact, the padding gets thinner and thinner the closer you get to the backrest, so at the back of the seat, I can feel a metal bar under my butt.
It crosses the entire length of the seat but especially on the sides that I feel it. For me, this is a pretty big flaw, especially when compared to other armchairs of the same price.
Finally, the coating used seems strong enough to last a few years. It is pleasant to the touch and the colors of the Pewdiepie edition are well done and give a nice visual rendering.
I was able to see some tests that said the paints faded after a month. I tested the seat for a good big week and could not see this problem.
- Free Headrest & Lumbar Support Cushion
- Backrest Recline function
- Tilt lock system
- High-Density Foam
- High strength tubular steel frame
- Polyurethane coated castors
- Worth the money
- Heavy-Duty Base
- Not suitable for taller people
Conclusion PewDiePie Gaming Chair Review
This Pewdiepie gaming chair is pretty good. If you are a Youtubers fan that you absolutely want to have the model he owns then go for it.
For others, I think there are better options available in the market. What makes me say that is above all the “little hiccups” on this armchair which combined make this product less attractive?
The bar that you can feel on the seat, the poor quality plastic (even if that does not change the comfort) and the armrests that you had to screw on to assemble the chair, all of which I do not necessarily recommend you this product.
It’s not bad (far from it) but it’s just that there is better (or else I just wasn’t lucky).
For about the same price you can have a Secretlab, which is a better product in almost every way.
